#TRUST ZONE VPN FOR MAC REVIEW SOFTWARE#
I understand if you don't want novice customers using the software that is technically beyond them so don't market it that way and if their reponse to customers experiencing problems with the software is not to help but simply ban them, then potential customers can draw their own conclusions as to how valued their custom is and how welcoming AVPN is.
It took me 30 mins googling to suss out the issue and solution, these super tech savvy support team obviously couldn't be bothered. They obviously knew the software had created a DNS problem, I told them I had no internet connection so what do they do - send me a website link. They had the log files, surely they could diagose the issue. That was an exaggeration borne of frustration, what it had done was wrote stuff to my DNS settings as shown above which after a lot of googling on my phone I realised I needed to just delete and the system came back I find their whole attitude incomprehensible. The reason "Spam lies and defamation" `I will leave i to the Trustpilot community to assess whether what I have set out above meets any of those descriptions Possibly my error (apart from signing up) was in frustration to say the software had trashed my Mac. One kind soul tried to help me get my connection back but then what did Air VPN customer "support" do - they banned me from the site. True they issued the refund immediately but think about it, their response to a new customer who was experiencing difficulty with their software was not to help, not to work the problem but to de-list the customer, put up the defensive wall and leave me with a system with no internet (7) In desperation I posted the problem on the Air VPN forums. They sent one email telling me I had a DNS problem and then cancelled my account. when the software was running I had no internet connection at all (6) A problem right? So I uploaded the log file to the "support" team and waited for their advice to fix it (7) What happened next was they made no attempt to fix the issue at al.
Also when the VPN was not running none of my apps would open. Also it opened 2 VPN server connections at once in Holland and Germany.

What's more it wrote this to my DNS file "fde617a:7d20:149::1" plus another DNS address. The connection was unstable on ipv6 this time and again continually disconnected.

Unfortunately this did not work as intended as the VPN constantly searched for IPv4 and continually disconnected (4) I asked for advice from Support and they replied reasonably quickly and told me to download and instal the beta version 2.19 (5) Sadly 2.19 did not play well with my Mac OSx Catalina system. (1) Sign up process was painless (2) Installation was pretty straightforward although not as guided as some but I expected that having read up on the offering (3) The stable version you instal is 2.18. The customer service has been scandalous. Sadly this has been an appalling experience from beginning to end and I would strongly advise anyone to think twice about trusting these people. I signed up for Air VPN in preference to one of the more well marketed providers as i liked the ethos and offering. The worst type of customer service attitude A remarkably good VPN service, and definitely the best I found for speed so far. They also develop OpenVPN and their fork made OpenVPN 3 so much better (nice surprise). if you have Linux or Mac and you try this VPN, make sure you run their "Suite" software and not their "Eddie". The first is fine and fast, while the second does its job, but is sluggish and affected by a questionable software design.
However, in Linux and Mac, strangely AirVPN offers two software lines, "Hummingbird Suite" and "Eddie". They release good open source software, for Linux too, but not for FreeBSD. Besides: low price, no logs policy, decent API and more importantly a nifty remote port forwarding support. Competent customer service helped me with a complex setup of my FreeBSD workstation (but they do not release software for this system) and made me save a lot of time. After almost three weeks of tests, the fastest VPN servers I found so far: constant 500+ Mbit/s from my fiber line.
